Eden created a Moroccan and Moorish inspired courtyard by enclosing this garden with a wall.  City ordinances would not allow a higher wall, so we created a planter with a green hedge.  The shrubs grew quickly as shown in the updated picture below.

At its full height, the hedge now provides privacy and a noise barrier for the residents.

Inside the courtyard, we created a custom, tiled basin for a large jug fountain and installed an awning over the front porch.  We added an entrance to the courtyard from the den, complete with french doors and new steps.

All new plants were placed throughout the courtyard.
