This home is a classic 1926 Spanish Revival in the Virginia Country Club area of Long Beach.  Our biggest challenge was to fit a pool to scale in a small area of the backyard.  Behind the pool we built a pavilion using architectural elements from the house to create an edifice that looks as if it has always been there.  Some of the special features of the pool include swim jets and automatic covers on both the pool and spa.

We selected outdoor dining and lounge furniture to complete the entire outdoor living space. From a large existing ficus tree and the spa pavilion we hung Moroccan lanterns to give the yard a Moorish Spanish Revival look.

We carried over the low-water plant style from the backyard, and relandscaped the front yard with complimentary plants.

A large agave graces the front yard.

We took an existing, understated sculpture and created an important space in the garden for it by raising it on a copper-covered stand design by Eden.

Lighting is well thought out - some lights have been placed on dimmers to help create a relaxed mood.  We created a new mural behind the spa to go with the existing one above the fireplace.

The landscape features various palms, a giant bird of paradise and is accented with an assortment of bromeliads.
